In this workshop we explore the ins and outs of watercolour through 6 fun and easy-to-follow techniques. We will understand how the paint reacts with water and experiment with different materials to create interesting effects. It is a great class for those who want to learn the basic techniques while trying fun exercises. We will paint some simple flowers and abstract shapes and turn these new skills into beautiful bookmarks to give out as presents or enjoy ourselves.
Once you have mastered the basic techniques, the possibilities are endless!
In this 1-hour course, you will get access to tutorial videos that will guide you through the beautiful world of painting with watercolours, from what materials to get and how to prepare your paints, to technique exploration, and finally the creation of your own bookmarks.
5 steps to create beautiful and fun bookmarks
Step 1 - Know your art materials
Identify what materials are key to start your watercolour painting journey
Step 2 - Build foundational skills
Unlock the potential of watercolours by mastering basic brushstroke techniques
Step 3 - Explore the techniques
This is where we get to play! We will have fun trying out the following techniques: wet on dry; wet on wet; salt; rubbing alcohol, paper towel, and gradients.
Step 4 - Divide and conquer
Tape your paper to apply a different technique on each space. These will then become your bookmarks!
Step 5 - Refine, cut, ready!
Add details and cut the bookmarks. Your newfound skills have turned into beautiful and thoughtful gifts.
